The Central Coast Railway Club is a San Jose-based railfan organization dedicated to the preservation of western railroad history with a special emphasis on the Bay Area and San Jose. Affiliated with the (National Railway Historical Society) as the Central Coast Chapter, the club meets on the third Friday of every month at the CalTrain station in Santa Clara, California. The Central Coast Chapter is a very active group of men and women. Since the club's inception in 1952 our members have studied and preserved the passing railroad scene in the form of photographs, the written word, and a growing collection of artifacts In addition to sponsoring excursions and monthly meetings, the chapter also provides members with a library, which preserves and stores books, videos and railroad-related artifacts. These items are made available for all members to use through our librarian. By participating in and recording railroad activity today, our chapter is preserving history for tomorrow.
